Julian Bhatia
Founder
Julian Bhatia founded Metabole Labs after fifteen years inside regulated financial institutions — long enough to watch the same gap open at every firm he worked in.
He spent his first decade in institutional sales and trading at Valbury Capital and EMFI Group, where MiFID II best execution, counterparty onboarding and conduct obligations were daily working constraints rather than compliance footnotes. He then joined Ocorian as Associate Commercial Director, advising asset managers, banks, sovereign wealth funds and corporates across EMEA and APAC on fund, entity and treasury structures — work that turned on getting regulated decisions right and being able to evidence them long afterwards.
The pattern held everywhere: firms could always tell you what they had changed; almost none could show, on demand, how it was decided. Metabole is the answer to that gap — the governed record these institutions are expected to keep, written as the work happens instead of reconstructed under deadline.
Julian also co-led a healthcare private equity programme in New Zealand and is reading for an MBA at the University of York.
